#19 Practical tips on How to Learn Arabic whilst Working/studying full-time – Interview with Usman Khalid

A lot of you reading this have thought to yourself, “I want to learn Arabic” or at least “I would love to know Arabic” – but the thought starts and finishes there for most of us. We struggle with translating this wish of ours into action. Without action, it will remain just that – a wish.

In this podcast, we discuss how to go about learning Arabic. We know why it is a praiseworthy ambition to have right? Optimized Muslim project focuses on the how. We assume as a pre-requisite that you know the why.

Topics discussed:

  • Inspiration/motivation: What inspired Br Usman to embark on the journey of learning Arabic as a young 16-17 year old. What can we learn from this?
  • The first steps: How did he go about STARTING.
  • Different methods of learning Arabic – some discussion of meta-learning e.g. spaced repetition.
  • Do we have to move to Egypt?
  • other tools and tips we can use.

The first of in sha Allah many Optimized Muslim interview-based podcasts.  In sha Allah everything will improve (and Optimize) as we go. Any feedback/assistance welcome
